With the passing of time, technology evolves and new techniques become available to artists to express their visions of the world. However, the process of making art is a never that simple. From beginning to end, it is a constant challenge. Working with digital machines has not made this challenge easier for the artist.
Taking his inspiration from classical representation of plastic forms, Alexander Povzner puts himself to the test for the first time with 3D printing. Here, the artist plays with the love/hate relationship that modernity has always had with tradition. And does that with a strong dose of irony: the old is planted (literally) in the new, as reprints of winter crops, with the hope to grow in the future.
